ED&D is turning heads in the world of system monitoring and control with a wide portfolio of sensors and touchscreen displays that talk to each other over a simple two-wire network using its E-Plex protocol. I’ve seen impressive engine and tank monitoring aboard a seasoned 125-foot Newcastle Marine expedition yacht as well as air conditioning, lighting, and video integration in the company’s demo motorcoach. The U.K. builder Sealine has adopted the technology under the C-Plex moniker for its yachts. A graphic programming language, E-Logic, allows an installer to design systems, even set up complex custom commands, quickly.
