C-Map has put together all the accessories—a Navman GPS Sleeve, a Compact Flash (CF) “Wide” size card of NT+ charts, and appropriate software—to turn an iPaq PDA into a dazzling little plotter. The included Winchart program has an elegant and clear-cut interface, and comes with a PC sibling that will also run the charts on a laptop with a PMCIA port. But note: Regular C-Map cards will not work with this kit, and the CF cards will not work with any existing plotter. The charts themselves look sharp and run fast even on my older iPaq. The $549 bundle also includes a suction bracket and a 12-volt power cord, but unfortunately does not come with Navman’s fine street software.
