This 12-foot-long
by six-foot-wide (including vertical-movement fins), battery-powered,
open-hulled, fiberglass-bodied, aluminum-framed vehicle can carry three
divers at a leisurely 3 knots for two hours through the octopus’
garden. (Did I mention this pseudo-submarine is yellow, too? However,
white is an option.) Divers sit single file with the pilot aft, controlling
the motion of the X30 with foot pedals that direct the four three-blade
propellers and two fins. All the divers need to become part of nature’s
aquarium is a mask, wet suit, and air tanks, which can be stowed in
an aft rack.
Passengers communicate
via a standard wireless communication system. (Are you starting to think
James Bond’s buddy Q had a hand in designing this thing?) As safety
is first in all boating and diving activities, the X30 comes standard
with master-power cut-off, voltmeter, dive flag, flare gun, PFD, and
an emergency inflator button, which engages a redundant air system via
a pony bottle. The result is the ability to deploy air bags at deep
depths and float the X30 to the surface in an emergency. Call for pricing.
