It’s
hard to keep binoculars steady when you're watching that fish jump or
bird fly or trying to read the numbers on that buoy way off in the distance.
That’s why Nikon, which specializes in cameras, binoculars, and
spotting scopes, has introduced its image-stabilizing binoculars, designed
specifically to give boaters, anglers, and other outdoor enthusiasts an
ultra-steady view, no matter how unsteady the conditions.
The
new 12x32 StabilEyes joins the existing 14x40 model but uses a gimbaled
servo system to provide a new view that is unaffected by shake or vibration,
says the company. Additionally, the special “VR Pause” mode,
which keeps the image stabilized, makes long-term viewing easier. Powered
by AA batteries (included), the binoculars are also reported to be water-,
fog-, and shockproof.
StabilEyes
retail for $799 and are covered by the company’s one-year warranty.
