I never
could manage to color inside the lines. I saw that the borders were there
and respected the thought behind them, but I just couldn’t do it.
Call it carelessness, but I fancied myself a rebel—a true artist.
Now
that I’m grown up and a boat owner, I’ve learned sometimes you
have to color—or paint, for that matter—inside the lines.
There are many like me who just can’t paint with surgeon-like precision,
therefore 3M is out to keep the drips and mistakes to a minimum with its
Scotch Safe-Release Painters’ Masking Tape. It’s designed for
marine applications and is safe to use on fiberglass, gelcoat, and other
substrate surfaces. The adhesive is gentle on these surfaces but strong,
and it can be applied over paint within 24 hours of application. The tape
can also remain on for up to 60 days under direct sunlight without damaging
or excessively gripping the surface, 3M claims.
The
3M Painters’ Masking Tape is available in 60-yard rolls and can be
found at most marine accessory retailers for $4.93.
