Listen up, folks: Even
the most experienced boater occasionally has trouble getting into a slip,
and all it takes is one brush up against the dock to leave a nasty mark
on your boat’s hull. Nautical Concept’s Roller Post should help
give skippers added protection against such nicks and scratches.
The company says installation
is easy. Roller Post’s heavy-duty, polyvinyl-chloride rollers attach
vertically to pilings with steel mounting brackets. (Check with your marina
manager before drilling any holes.) Each roller is 4 1/2 inches in diameter
and is available in 38-, 48-, or 60-inch lengths (custom lengths can also
be ordered). They even come in three variations to fit round or square
wooden pilings or tubular canopy slips.
Roller Post is covered
by a three-year limited parts-replacement warranty and sells for $119
to $150 (excluding shipping and handling charges) depending on the size
and type.
