I
started using the Swobbit Cleaning System (water blade, deck brush, mop,
boathook fitting, and telescoping handle) on my boat, the Scrumpy Vixen,
a couple of months ago. What a super set of products! Although I haven’t
done much leaning on the chamois mop due to a certain brand of laziness
fundamental to my nature, I’ve certainly spent a few hours on the
business end of the brush. It’s a solidly put-together piece of
equipment that, thanks to extra-fine resilient bristles, is both easy
on fiberglass and tough on dirt. The water blade’s a winner, too—whisks
water off windows or reasonably flat fiberglass surfaces like a champ.
And how about that boathook fixture, the one that attaches to the telescoping
handle? First of all, the poly hook itself is a lot hardier than others
I’ve seen. And second, the telescoping pole is also a tough implement.
It beats the heck out of the thin aluminum poles that often seem too frail,
at least for the sometimes-robust docking extravaganzas my boat-handling
style seems to engender these days. —Capt.
