We all know how hard
the marine environment is on our boats. Salt air can quickly take its
toll, attacking everything from gelcoat to sensitive electronic equipment.
To prevent this, boaters are constantly washing, rinsing, coating, and
polishing their boats. To make those jobs a little easier, Swobbit has
introduced a new line of cleaning cloths.
Swobbit claims its line
of Microtex drying towels do a better job of trapping dirt and grime than
conventional cloths, thanks to fibers 100 times smaller than a human hair.
When I recently put these towels to the test onboard my 31-footer, they
did indeed perform as advertised and removed the day’s salt and grime
with ease. I actually keep the towels onboard as part of my regular cleaning
gear.
Unfortunately I didn’t
get a chance to test the other Swobbit products, which include the Boater’s
Utility Towel, made of industrial-grade, prewashed cotton fabric. It is
reported to do a superior job of absorbing grease and oil. In addition,
Swobbit’s Flannel Cloths are said to be perfect for polishing and
dusting, while its Terry Towels, made of high-quality cotton, are an all-around
utility towel. And finally, for streak-free glass, there’s the Glass
and Finishing towel that Swobbit says also cleans vinyl and leather. The
season isn’t over yet, so stay tuned for possible updates on some
of these other products.
Pricing and ordering
information for all of the above can be found by contacting Swobbit directly.
