Shhhhh...

The yacht took a little more than three years to complete, and for the moment, she is the most voluminous one Christensen has launched. She’ll be eclipsed soon after you read this, though, as that’s when the custom 157-foot Liquidity is expected to be in her owner’s hands. Next into the mold—and built simultaneously with the series of 157s—will be a custom 146-footer. In 2005 construction is expected to start on a custom 164-foot Liquidity, the largest Christensen ever commissioned. To accommodate the big boats, the yard began work last summer on a 75-foot-tall indoor “connector” between its current production area and its finishing bay.

Christensen had hoped to show off Hull 026 and the 157-foot Liquidity at this fall’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, but Liquidity won’t quite be done in time—and Woods wants to use his boat, possibly in and around South Florida (even though he could make good use offshore of her 4,000-NM range).

If you’re in Fort Lauderdale for the late-October boat show, keep an eye out for the distinct black exterior styling around Hull 026’s windows. If Woods cruises at the yacht’s 18-knot top speed, the decorative trim just may resemble a Nike swoosh.

[Editor’s note: As we posted this online in mid-October, Tiger Woods had been photographed aboard the yacht during his honeymoon. Various media reported the name as Privacy, though they incorrectly reported that he had chartered the yacht.]
