About Us

Power & Motoryacht is the leading marine media brand in the world. From the award-winning magazine that has captured the imagination of boaters for the last four decades, to its thriving video review program, newsletters, social media channels and podcast, Power & Motoryacht is the home for the best stories in boating.

With content enjoyed by millions of active boaters from around the world each year, the brand has earned the respect of its audience and the larger marine industry.

I’ve been faithfully reading Power & Motoryacht for many years. My wife’s typical comment is, “Your boat magazine came in, guess I’ll see you in a while.” But recently I’ve gained a new appreciation for you and your crew of writers. You see, not long ago while I was complaining about the news media’s twist on most everything, my grown kids said, “You should listen to podcasts.” If you haven’t guessed, I’m past the halfway point in the journey of life and not quite on top of the tech scene. So, after some coaching on smart phone handling, I found the Power & Motoryacht podcast. Finally, my commute to work became a pleasurable experience. This is where the new-found appreciation came in; after reading the highly detailed articles and admiring the beautiful photos provided by your staff for years, I had somehow come to believe that you are part of the elite, ultra-wealthy set that can afford these exquisite floating masterpieces. In fact, after listening to your podcast, I’ve learned that you’re just a bunch of regular guys and gals that, like me, love boats. I’ve been boating all my life, and while I love a day on the water, I’ve often said, I like boats more than boating. Realizing that you and your crew are a hard-working bunch that made better career choices than I did makes me enjoy your magazine that much more. Keep up the good work.

Great podcast on Matt Howard! We have a Wilbur 34 and live on the Eastern Shore and look forward to seeing his Wilbur 38 on her visits up the Choptank River that he says he enjoys. Currently, we are cruising in Florida on board Lark but will be back on La Trappe Creek this spring. I’m sure he knows where that is! Long time subscriber, keep up the good work!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Richard Kupchunos. My wife Connie and I live in the Ivoryton section of Essex. We built a house and moved here twenty years ago. We are long time boaters and our passion for boating brought us here full time upon my retirement.

We own a Tiara, 3500 express named Taillights. We keep Taillights at the Safe Harbor Dauntless Marina main dock leading to the fuel dock. The view is one of the best anywhere.

Hey Dan,
I was happy to read in the latest issue of Power & Motoryacht that you bought a boat and are keeping it at the “Island.” Your letter inspired me to write and congratulate you as editor of Power & Motoryacht. You are doing a fantastic job with the magazine. I can’t believe how much the magazine has changed in such a short time. The articles are great and very enjoyable. You have carefully avoided the trap so many editors fall into, political and social bias.
