Beneteau launches its new Swift Trawler 37. We’ve long been impressed with the array of functional liveaboard features Beneteau manages to squeeze into relatively small packages, and that’s surely true with the Swift Trawler 37. Just unveiled, this family cruiser will come with either a sedan or flybridge configuration. In the cockpit, we’re a nice forward helm position behind her forward raked windshields. There looks to be excellent visibility for her captain—along with helm deck access door right off to starboard. Her u-shaped galley has a bigger footprint than the 35-footer the 37 replaces, with a sizable fridge/freezer and, Beneteau is promising, enhanced storage as well. The six-person u-shaped dinette also converts into a berth with the table lowered. Belowdecks, there’s a double bunk cabin and a big forward master with a separate shower stall and twin doors for both en suite and day access to the head. She can be had with substantial solar power and twin 400 or 440 horsepower Yanmar 6LY power plants. Range at 8 knots with 211 gallons of fuel is said to be 350NM with a ten percent reserve. The first 37 will be unveiled to the public at the Cannes Yachting Festival this September. We’ll be sure to get aboard.
