#31: RONIN—191’9″

Back in February Ronin became the largest yacht hauled by Marine Group Boat Works in Chula Vista, California, for a paint job and other maintenance tasks. Todd Roberts, vice president of the yard, was quoted as saying it would cost $50,000 to fuel her up once the work was completed, “so there will be a lucky fuel vendor.” While the yard naturally took several photos of the yacht being hauled by its TraveLift, figuring (rightfully so) that they were newsworthy, bloggers a little further up the coast in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley area prefer to call most photos of the yacht, owned by Larry Ellison (see Rising Sun, no. 1) “boat porn.” You can claim this boat porn for yourself for just shy of $40 million, as she’s for sale.
