#29: ALPHA NERO—269’0″

This about-to-be-delivered yacht has been known only as Y702, her build number, since she was commissioned—but a spy at her launch spilled the beans. She has a vast aft-deck area that’s no ordinary spot. It’s arguably the ultimate beach club, with an infinity pool. The yacht’s overall exterior design bears some similarity to that of Amevi (no. 32), which began construction first. Speculation is that the owner is American; indeed, early renderings of the yacht showed an American flag flying from the aft upper deck.

FAST FACTS

Oceanco says one of the greatest challenges it’s had with recent builds was from this yacht’s owner. He wanted a large pool (23’0″x11’5″) and a helipad (which also needs a good amount of space) on the main deck, as well as spacious open decks in general. According to Oceanco’s marketing representative Michelle Flandin, “I believe that a pool of this size has rarely been achieved on a yacht of this size and will certainly become one of the main focus points of the yacht.” She adds that the pool area can be lifted and used as a helipad or a dance floor. The technology behind this feature was developed and designed by the builder’s in-house team of engineers. Without a doubt the owner and guests will experience a unique setting around this external lounge area, says Flandin.—Capt. Patrick Sciacca
