Talk about an innovative stowage solution: Ilona has a helicopter hanger aft below decks. A platform lifts the helicopter to deck level when it’s needed, and the hatches that open to permit this to occur fold back into place and with the platform form a landing pad. In early May the helicopter served as an impressive backdrop for the crew, clad in their dress whites, in Rhodes, Greece, when one of our staffers saw dressed-to-the-nines guests arriving for an evening soiree.
