Some owners want to cruise their homeland coastline, others want to travel the world—but Charles Simonyi has taken travel to an entirely new level. In April he became the latest “space tourist”—or, as the software developer himself put it, “space nerd”—to visit the International Space Station. Despite keeping a blog and answering questions people posted to a Web site created specifically for the voyage, charlesinspace.com, he didn’t address whether any of the high-tech equipment on the craft allowed him to monitor his equally high-tech yacht, which he spends months at a time onboard.
