#80: WEDGE TOO—213’3″
Lebanese deputy Prime Minister Issam Fares and his wife Hala own this amusing yacht. Why “amusing”? Try looking under the tabletops—you’ll find crooked legs and even gnomes. Philippe Starck, the renowned designer they hired, summed it up this way when the owners hired him in 1999: “I design for you a classic, simple style; it will be wood, with white marble and white ceilings. That’s it, simple”—then added, with a mischievous smile, “And then we go crazy on the details and the furniture.”
