George L. Petrie
Formerly a professor of naval architecture at the University of New Orleans, George is a professor of naval architecture at the Webb Institute and continues to provide consulting services to small craft designers, ship operators, and other members of the marine industry.
A graduate of the Institute of Naval Architecture and the graduate program in naval architecture at the University of Michigan, as well as a former U.S. Coast Guard officer, George is both a naval architect and lifelong boating enthusiast. He worked for eight years as a consultant in the offshore industry and has testified as an expert witness in several maritime law cases. His Web site is Maritime Analysis and Design.
