After stainless steel rails have been thoroughly cleaned, rub a rag with Vaseline petroleum jelly and wipe down the rails. It need not be thick and can be wiped down a second time with a dry cloth.The Vaseline will imbed into the pores of the steel and prevent rust and corrosion from developing. The process only needs to be done approximately twice each year.—Tom Wright

A “Yacht” of Fun in the Sun

Please excuse Anna‘s shyness. This nearly 220-foot Feadship greeted the dawning Dutch morning of January 12 ever so subtly, poking her bow out of her build shed with the help of a towboat before quickly retreating back under wraps. The behavior of Hull No. 673 of the venerable Royal De Vries yard can best be summed up by Julien Jouault, her owner’s representative: “Like any graceful lady, she only wants to meet her public when fully dressed.”

Here’s the second of three yachts on our list that are owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich. Or does he still own her? Rumor-mill reports had Abramovich “giving” this expedition yacht to Eugene Shvidler, his business lieutenant, a few months ago, apparently to free himself up for the delivery of another 300-foot-plus yacht within the next year. Regardless, the yacht continues to be photographed wherever she goes, and her “toys,” including a sailboat, attract plenty of attention.
