Taking the step up to a new boat is a challenging proposition. There are so many models on the market these days and the choices for everyone from anglers to watersport enthusiasts can overwhelm just about anyone. From finding the best spot to throw out a fishing line to hosting your family for a day in the sun, there is a boat for every lifestyle.

But if you find yourself with the dilemma of choosing between your favorite pastimes, such as fishing or a day at the sandbar, the new Everglades 367CX will take you to both. The CX stands for crossover, meaning you can play with the family, cruise out to a restaurant with friends, and go fishing when so desired.

“This is meant to be a boat that’s filled with lifestyle elements,” says Matt Holloway, Everglades’ director of business development. “It’s a luxury piece, where there are air conditioners, and there’s a cabin down below, and teak tables up in the bow, and so forth.” In other words, the 367CX and the series that will follow are Everglades’ new line of luxury family boats.

Again, that’s not to say you can’t fish from it. Everglades has fishing in its DNA, as proven by its bay boats and offshore center-console series, so the new 7-Series focuses on family friendly luxury yet still has the means accommodate serious anglers.

What hasn’t changed are Everglades’ fundamental and distinctive characteristics—craftsmanship, performance, and versatility that blend with quality and elegance. “We didn’t deviate from the build process,” says Holloway. “We use our patented Rapid Molded Core Assembly Process (RAMCAP) to build this boat, just like we did all the rest of them. It’s just much different now.” What he means is the variable deadrise, deep-V hull is still unsinkable, and instead of the typical center-console design with T-top and full walkaround deck, a full-beam hardtop protects the console, the triple helm and second row seating, and the entrance to the cabin below. A full windshield with optional full side windows gives complete protection from the elements, and to make things really comfortable, air conditioning and heat are available with an 8kW diesel generator on board.

One of the coolest features on this new crossover is the ability for everyone to be part of the action. Fit with armrests and bolsters, each helm seat is on a slider that rotates 180 degrees. The second-row mezzanine seating unit includes an entertainment center with countertop, sink, and room for the optional grill attached to its backside. The entire top section, including seats and summer galley, also rotates 180 degrees so guests can face aft to see what’s happening. In the base of that unit, a sliding, insulated cooler also acts as a step up to the seats as well as a footrest. A transom foldout bench adds additional seating, and the swim platform has plenty of room for swimmers, divers, and anglers.

Once again, anglers aren’t lost with this model. Dual 25-gallon insulated fish boxes in the deck, combination cup and rod holders, and under-gunwale rod storage keeps gear close at hand. An insulated, 25-gallon livewell in the transom is another option, as are Gemlux 18-foot collapsible outriggers. See? Everglades hasn’t forgotten their fishing base.

The family, even the fishing crew, will take advantage of the cabin below. L-shaped cushioned seating has foldable backrests to get a break from the elements and when down, the addition of a filler cushion will form a twin-size berth for taking a nap or spending a night out, and a dedicated wet head has all the amenities for getting cleaned up.

But most of the time on board will be out on deck in the fresh breeze. Even the hardtop opens to let the sun in, with an optional electrically actuated skylight, as do the standard half windows on each side. Open the portside windshield to find some peace in the bow and catch some serious rays on the comfortable triple loungers.

That’s what’s nice about this new model. You can have it all with the conveniences of home. That’s the advantage of having options. Besides the diesel generator that adds power to the air conditioning, heat, TV, hot water heater, and more, there’s a Seakeeper 3 for added stability. Even the helm gives a sense of ease because everything is right at your fingertips with your choice of Garmin MFDs and controls. You can choose between twin 350- to 450-horsepower Mercurys and Yamahas that give plenty of power. Thanks to the 363-gallon fuel tank, cruising around 26 to 30 knots can offer a range of 300-plus nautical miles.

Whether you’re upping your game for a more versatile boat or downsizing, Everglades introduces the first in their 7-Series models as accommodating, easy-to-use platform. “We’re starting off with this one because we know people want to be comfortable,” says Holloway. “We’ll see those stepping up from a smaller boat and people who are tired of running bigger boats.” The 367CX blends offshore performance and craftsmanship with comfort and easy control to enjoy a boating experience without compromise.
