Buyer’s Guide:

The Horizon PC52 is the latest launch in the builder’s Powercat line and comes on the heels of her popular big sister, the PC60, which made her North American debut here last year. One glance and you can tell the two are definitely related. The PC52 has the same lines as the 60 and the same large interior volume that the line is well known for. Tank testing for the PC52’s hull was done at the same time that Horizon was testing the PC60 so the 52 will have the same seakeeping abilities as her big sister, as well as the same length-to-beam ratio.

The PC52 is definitely the little sister when it comes to the power plants. She comes standard with twin 550-horsepower Cummins QSB 6.7 engines (as opposed to the twin 715-horsepower Cummins QSM 11s that power the PC60), but her performance is still nothing to shake a boathook at, with a company-reported top-hop of 22 knots, a 17 knot cruise, and an 8 knot slow-cruise.
