The latest addition to Beneteau’s Monte Carlo line is the MC4, a motor-cruiser flying-bridge yacht. You might think you recognize her if you’ve seen her big sister, the popular MC5 that made her debut here last year. You’ll notice a few similarities—the MC4 rides atop the same hull and they sport nearly identical flying bridges. You’ll notice the first difference when you step inside. Unlike the MC5, the MC4 has the galley positioned along the portside where the U-shaped settee is located on the MC5. On the MC4 your main interior dining space will be the U-shaped settee and dinette to starboard.

Below, the big difference is one fewer guest stateroom (and no crew’s quarters, unlike her big sister). The full-beam master still sits amidships, but the en suite is now located to starboard (on the MC5 it is located to port, and there is an extra porthole in the hull for it). Beneath the cockpit the powerplants don’t change much between the two boats, the MC5 can take Volvo Penta IPS600s as an option over the standard IPS500s, which are the only engines available on the MC4. The difference in fuel tankage is only 27 gallons.
