Founded in 1841, Baglietto has been an innovator for more than a century and a half, starting with both sail and power yachts as well as military craft and now offering two diverse series of fast sport yachts and semidisplacement yachts. In the 1980s, Baglietto launched the first high-performance megayacht capable of exceeding 36 knots and, more recently, the 95-foot (29-meter) Opus was the first open sport yacht capable of 40 knots.
The Baglietto fast series includes yachts in the 102- to 111-foot range, all with speeds over 30 knots. The semidisplacement yachts, from 137- to 173-feet, are entirely custom-designed and built for each owner, featuring world-class interiors and styling.
Baglietto has also just made a major investment in their historic shipyard in La Spezia, allowing not only the construction of new yachts but also a world-class repair and refit facility under the Baglietto brand. The yard will continue to build aluminum yachts but the addition includes two sheltered drydocks for yachts to nearly 300 feet (90 meters), and up to 12 yachts can be handled at the same time. The additions will create one of the leading shipyards in the Mediterranean at a strategic area for megayacht traffic.
