On a fiberglass boat with the typical bronze running gear—and fresh zincs—a corrosion meter should read anywhere between .55 and 1.1 volts, either positive or negative depending on how you’ve attached the leads. Higher voltages (i.e. -.4 or -.3) mean you don’t have enough zinc to adequately protect underwater metal.
