"Talon II" is a One of One

It’s Kennedy’s Camelot. Astronaut Alan Shepard makes the first U.S. manned spaceflight. The president challenges Congress to land a man on the moon; the Marcels sing “Blue Moon,” and Danny Williams croons “Moon River.” Meanwhile, down in South Florida, Merritt Boatworks floats hull number seven—a rough-and-ready, wooden-hulled 37-foot sportfisher. After a refit costing more than a million dollars, “Talon II” today is a completely unique vessel that still competes in the big billfish tournaments against boats two and three times her size. Step through her tuna door—and back in time.
