Cranchi M40 Soft Top

Cranchi seems to have a knack for producing midrange express cruisers that keep their customers happy with a pleasant mix of onboard accommodations and on-the-water performance. They have seen much success with their Endurance 41, and now look forward to continued adulation with the M40, a boat that debuted at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show. That continuation of praise wouldn’t be all that surprising, since she is at once both sleek and functional, built for play, but also amenable to life onboard.

The M40 is powered by twin 330 Volvo D6 Duoprop stern drives that lend her jaunty speeds and responsive handling that will certainly entice those with a thirst for sport. The engines can also come paired with an optional joystick control meant to put everyone at ease when it’s time to dock.

To complement the boat’s sporty performance, an electrically actuated soft top retracts to transform the helm into an open space for that feeling of wind-in-your-hair excitement.

Forward, on the bow, there are twin sunpads, a perfect spot to relax while at anchor off your favorite cay. The pads flank a recessed hatch, which allows bundles of sunlight into the forepeak master. Aft of that, a guest stateroom sleeps three and takes full advantage of the boat’s 13-foot 3-inch beam. Notably, the M40 also has a convertible dinette in her saloon, which can serve as a berth for two more if need be, meaning the boat can sleep up to seven people. That’s no small feat for a vessel of this size and type, which is all the more reason for excitement in the Cranchi camp.
