Fairline Yachts made a statement when it brought famed Italian designer Ablerto Mancini aboard to bring a “wow factor” to the U.K. builder’s new products. That was certainly the case with the 63 GTO that debuted in Cannes. From its single level living to the boat’s aggressive exterior styling, it’s a package that earned a ton of attention on the show circuit.

Sitting in the 63’s cockpit at the Annapolis boat show with Fairline Yachts Head of Design, Andrew Pope, I was let in on another project that brings a different kind of wow factor: The 33-foot Fairline F-line (a working title).

“We knew we needed a new starter boat for the brand. And our heritage goes back to the Targa 28 so we wanted to get back to our roots and design a weekender,” explained Pope as he brought up the rendering of the 33 up on his phone. “But we wanted to carve our own niche. It’s all about creating a socialable, livable space.

We’ll have some accommodations below to sleep two to four people and have a galley topsides. Looks wise it’s dramatic, we really wanted to set ourselves apart from what everyone else is doing, yet it still has some Fairline DNA in its profile. It’ll do 40 knots, but be quite economical. It’s going to be a fun boat to design all the little details on.”

Pope and the rest of the Fairline executive team hope the 33 will introduce the brand to a younger demographic, and their dedication to customer support will retain them for years.

I’ve been thinking about the name that’s TBD (To Be Determined). Fast, sleek, plus with my love of alliteration, I’m going to go out on a limb and pitch: The Fairline Falcon.
