Yankee Ferry, the last intact—and afloat—Ellis Island ferry, is for sale.

Victoria and Richard MacKenzie-Childs have lived and worked aboard her for 25 years, but she’s now for sale on Staten Island. The MacKenzie-Childs have been restoring her for 25 years as dutiful stewards, but now, for the cool price of $1.25 million, she can be yours.

Among Yankee Ferry’s other accolades: She was an armed “picket boat” for WWI, one of the last “bell” boats in the US, the oldest Statue of Liberty boat, the oldest working wheelhouse in the US, the oldest New York ferry, and the longest-operating commercial passenger vessel in the US.

All in all, that’s quite the résumé. With character in spades (see more photos at the listing link below), she’s well worthy of landing in a caring set of hands.
