Watch, pause, and restart live TV no matter whether you’re on land, in the sky, or at sea.

Alot of travel happens over a holiday weekend, whether on a plane, train, or automobile. My Thanksgiving was going to be no different, making it a great time to test Jetstream, a television service that promises access to international satellite services from any laptop or the company’s proprietary receiver boxes that have Internet access. But the feature that drew my attention was the ability to press pause on one device, move to a new location, and press play to continue watching from the same point. Of course I wasn’t going to be moving from my villa to my jet to my yacht (all serviceable locations) but rather from my NYC apartment to the bus to my friend’s Washington, DC, apartment. By logging into the Web site, I had access to DirecTV and Dish Network plus Sky of Germany, Mexico, and the U.K.; and also Russian, Spanish, and French satellite TV. I chose DirecTV, clicked over to Bravo, and cued up some Real Housewives. When my laptop battery waned, I pressed pause and switched to my friend’s laptop. When I logged in on it, I found Housewives paused and poised to continue the catfight. There was only one problem: Despite all of the available options, I couldn’t find anything I wanted to watch.
