Miami Boat Shows 2016

The Miami 2016 boat shows.

Miami 2016

Now there is a paint scheme that will stop you in your tracks.

Miami 2016

The Miami International Boat Show in its new location on Virginia Key was the temporary home of a wide array of stunning vessels of all shapes and sizes, all begging for attention. One boat that was hard to look past was Cigarette Racing’s new 41-foot SD GT3.

Many craft claim to be inspired by automobiles but you only catch the resemblance when squinting with your head titled. Not so with the SD GT3 and the Mercedes-AMG GT3 with matching paint jobs and racing lines.

The race boat is powered by twin Mercury Racing 1100 engines and boats a Garmin infotainment system that was admired by many. www.cigaretteracing.com

Miami 2016

A Rivarama Super glistens under the South Florida sun
and attracts show goers to the massive Ferretti Group display.

Miami 2016

The new Ferretti 550 packs the high level of fit and finish that the brand is known for into a 55-foot package.

Miami 2016

Standing before the rocket launcher on the Viking 80 EB,
it takes only a little imagination to envision oneself fighting a monster sailfish offshore.

Miami 2016

Just to give you a sense of how long the 80 EB feels, this shot was taken looking forward after going
through the cockpit, saloon, and galley. This boat just seems to stretch forever.

Miami 2016

When you’re not in the cockpit, why not enjoy a seafood appetizer in the galley?

Miami 2016

And now from the outside; much like a puppy in a Sarah McLachlan commercial,
the Viking 80 is just begging to be brought home.

Miami 2016

Talk about your engine room access! Well done, MJM 50Z!
Look for more on the best engine rooms of the boat show in an upcoming feature in Power & Motoryacht.

Miami 2016

The largest Sabre built to date, the 66 Dirigo retains its instantly recognizable down east lines.

Miami 2016

Now that got our attention.
A model of the new Bertram 35 stopped guests dead in their tracks.

Miami 2016

12. It’s hard to not stop and snap a picture when you see a Hinckley.

Miami 2016

From closer up, you can appreciate how the fully opening glass doors of
the Sabre 66 would flood the interior with light.

Miami 2016

The Grand Banks 44 Eastbay would have a steady stream of guests climbing on and off throughout the show.

Miami 2016

And the next time these lines come off, a boat will be heading home with a proud new owner.

Miami 2016

The new Princess S65 just begs for you to come take a tour.

Miami 2016

Anytime we see a beautiful boat from Committi we can’t help but think this would be a great boat to explore the Great Lakes, or the Keys, or Maine, or the Chesapeake, OK, this would be a fun boat to go anywhere on.

Miami 2016

Finish Invasion. A 28-foot Finish-built Axopar first entices you with attractive European styling
but then you realize, wait a second, this is a really functional day boat.

Miami 2016

From the Prestige 680’s expansive swim platform to a palatial flybridge,
a lot of attention was paid to the spaces where boaters spend most of their time.

Editor-in-Chief of Power & Motoryacht
One of the lucky ones who was born into boating, Dan grew up cruising aboard his family’s 33 Egg Harbor. Marinas and boatyards served as summer school and the foundation for a career on the water. When not chasing stories for Power & Motoryacht magazine he can be found cruising Long Island Sound with his wife, sons, and faithful (furry) first mate Salty.
