Scout’s 670 Officially Debuts
King of the Show | Scout 670
Power & Motoryacht was invited to join Scout on one of the first sea trials of their 670–appropriately named Project Everest. While we released a walkthrough video from Scout’s unveiling event, this beast deserved a more thorough one in her natural habitat.
On February 3, law enforcement parted Interstate 26 like the Red Sea so the folks from Scout could get the largest outboard powered yacht ever built from their Summerville factory to a Charleston boat landing. A flat tire, a few hairpin turns and some seriously low clearance moments eventually found the 60,000-pound Scout at the W.O. Thomas Boat Landing.
Powered by five 600-horsepower Mercury Verados, the 670 LXS—or Project Everest as they call it—looks to be everything Scout promised, and more. Enjoy a first walkthrough of what is, frankly, a record-breaking super console—it’s one hell of a boat.
From near destruction by an infamous Carolina hurricane to a trajectory that’s led to the the biggest outboard powered yacht ever built, Steve Potts has followed a fascinating and sometimes harrowing path.
Scout is hard at work on a groundbreaking 67-foot-long super console. Senior Editor Chris Dixon reports on a jaw-dropping build and the tools making it possible.
When paired with the brawny 600-hp Mercury outboards, the Scout 425 LXF is a luxe center console with speed to spare.
Scout’s 215 XSF won’t break the bank but don’t go calling this model “entry level.”
The Scout Boats 305 LXF fits into the middle of the builder’s lineup, but includes some surprising new features.
