Center Consoles to see at FLIBS 2016

Must-see center consoles at the 2016 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Regulator 31

OUR TAKE: With features borrowed from its bigger sibling, the Regulator 41 (including a dive door and forward seat backrests), the new 31 CC boasts a cockpit with plenty of angling space in a layout that can be easily handled by a one-man fishing team.

Axopar 24 T-Top

OUR TAKE: Exposure to the sun and water when you want it, and protection from the elements when you don’t. That’s what the T-Top version of the Axopar 24 offers. A forward table that turns into a sunpad is a nice party trick.

Boston Whaler 230 Outrage

OUR TAKE: A boat that’s so simple it almost brings a nostalgic tear to your eye. In a world seemingly being taken over by quint outboard powered 50-footers, this single-outboard-powered machine (with a 40-plus-knot top end) keeps things simple so you can focus on the bite.

Sea Ray SLX 350

OUR TAKE: There’s a lot of innovation crammed into a small package. Built-in LED lighting sets the mood you want at the tap of a screen, automated trimming smoothes your ride and also allows you to optimize your wake for waterskiing and wakeboarding.

Southport 33 LX

OUR TAKE: The newest offering from this Maine builder checks a lot of boxes: Performance, comfortable forward seating, stand-up headroom in the console head, and fishing features galore. It’s everything boaters have come to expect in a Southport.

Mag Bay 33

OUR TAKE: The center console market is a competitive one, with so many available models that it’s a challenge to stand out from the pack (present company on this page notwithstanding). The Mag Bay 33 separates itself with a beautiful, shapely hull design.

Azimut 40 Verve

OUR TAKE: Yes, you read right, this is the newest offering from Italian giant Azimut Yachts. Coming after the American outboard market, the Verve sports a level of fit and finish that the builder is known for, as well as a cabin with a downright impressive amount of space.

Pursuit S408

OUR TAKE: Equally adept at taking all your friends fishing at the canyon or dropping the hook while the grandkids jump in the water and treat the hullside dive door like it was made for them, this is a do-it-all center console that you won’t want to miss.
