The longtime lover of onboard animals is leading the charge to build the nation’s first-ever “Museum of Maritime Pets.” Sullivan’s virtual museum launched in 2006, and now she’s raising funds for a permanent home. Our favorite honoree is Sinbad (shown), the renowned World War II-era mutt who served aboard the Coast Guard cutter Campbell and survived an intense open-sea battle with a German submarine.
