Tashmoo 18 Skiff

A Classic Downeast Skiff Gets a New Life

When his boat was out of commission, David Reiter had the chance to run a buddy’s classic downeast skiff. After driving it, he had to have one and went down the rabbit hole, landing atop a set of decades old hull molds in a Maine backyard. When he took the molds to Dragonfly Boatwork’s legendary Mark Castlow, the stunning Tashmoo Boatworks 18 was born. Check out this newly reborn classic with Senior Editor, Chris Dixon.

A close-up, side-profile shot of a woman cleaning the white vinyl upholstery of a boat seat. She is wearing a teal t-shirt featuring a ship's wheel logo with the word "NAUTICAL" printed beneath it, as well as dangling silver hoop earrings. With a focused expression, she uses a yellow microfiber cloth in one hand and a small white cleaning pad or cotton ball in the other to wipe down the armrest of a white captain's chair. The background shows the bright, sunlit interior structures and windshield frames of the boat.
