Valhalla 55 Sport

Apart from its speediness, the Valhalla 55 Sport is a very new motoryacht for the Viking family.

We recently took a tour and a spin aboard Viking Yachts’ all-new Valhalla 55 Sport during a first look in Atlantic City. The first in what will almost surely be a series, with several other hulls already in build, including a fishing model, this is something of a departure for Valhalla. A pleasure boat if there ever were one, this boat has the legs and lines to take a Miami-to-Bimini run in perfect comfort, speed, and style.

With U-shaped settees on both rear and foredecks, an L-shaped galley amidships and seating options to spec, this is a true entertainer. But it’s no slouch in the performance department, either: A deep-V hull, glass all around the pilothouse and a helm station fit for a large sportfisherman make for a graceful ride. Large, automated sliding doors to port and starboard along with a sliding cassette sunroof, this is an airy but instantly climate-controlled, all-weather vessel, too.

We made a quick video walkthrough and test run here for you—during which we topped out at an impressive 53 knots pushed by quad 600-horsepower Mercury V12 Verados, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that CEO (and President) Pat Healey and co. will let us make that very run for a feature in the near future. Either way, stay tuned for more in a forthcoming Power & Motoryacht issue.
