My nephew Liam has always been what you might call an old soul. He is as comfortable with my friends as he is with his own, speaks multiple languages, practices the piano without argument, and actually gets along with his parents. It's easy to forget how young he is sometimes. But if there is one thing that truly brings out the 11-year-old in him, it's roller coasters.

The Meridian 411 has a spacious flying bridge, clean sightlines, a comfortable interior, and is easy to get around. She sleeps six people and is ideal for a long weekend cruise.

Put-in-Bay was once considered an adult vacation spot, but attractions like the crystal cave, carousel, winery, minigolf, and myriad restaurants now make it fun for the whole family.

There’s no need to point visitors toward Canada: Put-in-Bay is located just five miles south of it.

Liam could barely contain his excitement while winding down at Famous Dave’s BBQ, which is located inside the marina.

The marina at Cedar Point is a couple hundred yards away from some of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world.

A close-up, high-angle view of the bow of a luxury motor yacht moored on calm water. The bow features highly polished, varnished mahogany wood decking with a stainless steel bow rail, a prominent chrome anchor mounted at the stem, and two braided blue dock lines stretching diagonally across the frame.

Eat. Cruise. Repeat.

A close-up, selective-focus shot of a black marine compass dial illuminated at night. Bold white numbers indicate bearings for 300, 330, and 0 (North), with a yellow arrow symbol pointing toward the North marker beneath a bright reflection on the glass.
