If you’re planning on attending the Cannes Yachting Festival, head over to Vieux Port and check out the debut of Omaya’s new 50. The Bulgarian builder constructs these high-luxe catamarans along the banks of the Danube. She boasts a 27-foot beam, expansive lower decks and what the builder promises is a highly customizable salon and super-efficient hull shape to economically—and lavishly—carry ten guests. Technically, she’ll be based around Garmin’s EmpirBus system, which deftly handles lighting, entertainment, security systems, temperature and navigation in a single package. Stereoscopic docking video cameras coupled with Raymarine’s DockSense object detection system should make tying off a relatively low-stress affair. She looks like a compelling extended stay cruiser—and we’ll surely be stepping aboard to check her out.
