Not a true powerboat story here but one I thought you guys might enjoy, despite its gravitas. Fifty-three-year-old Donna Chen was killed by an allegedly drunk driver a few days ago while jogging with her dog in the Florida beach community of Siesta Key. The dog, a Hungarian Vizsla, panicked, ran into the ocean, and swam straight out. It made it about a half-mile offshore before being rescued from certain death by Rory O’Connor, a tourist from Washington state who was angling off of a kayak. For some reason, not sure why, Rory was filming himself fishing, and happened to catch the frightened dog on film as it paddled towards his craft. The dog is now safe and sound—a silver lining in an otherwise tragic tale.
