Couach 3000 Fly
For more than 100 years, Couach Yachts has been building custom luxury yachts, combining traditional European workmanship, state-of-the-art composite technology, and chic French design. The 3000 Fly is a sporty-looking 100-footer that offers express-cruiser speed with motoryacht comfort. Powered by a pair of 2,400-hp MTU diesels, she’ll deliver speeds in the mid-30-knot range. Also available is a relatively modest pair of 2,000-hp diesels that should still let her cruise easily in the upper 20s.
Part of that performance comes from an efficient hull form proven in the 2800, of which ten have been sold. And part comes from the weight savings that accrue from Kevlar-reinforced laminates combined with PVC foam coring in the hull and judicious use of other core materials in her deckhouse and interior. As a measure of her efficiency, she’s expected to be capable of logging more than 1,000 miles at midrange cruising speeds.
Stylistically the 3000 Fly takes cues from the 3300 Fly and 2800 Open, adopting softer curves and gentler sweeps in her profile compared to older models. And the new look is pleasing, with expansive side windows that belie the generous proportions of her deckhouse.
Topping off the 3000 Fly is an extended flying bridge with a novel helm station, positioned far enough aft of the windscreen to allow a row of sun lounges in the space between, so you can drive and still keep an eye on guests. Farther aft is a full wet bar, a U-shape dining area, a hot tub, and more sunpads. In fact, the bridge is so completely dedicated to entertainment, stowage for the tender is relegated to the swim platform.
Accommodation spaces on the lower deck can be configured in a four- or five-stateroom layout. The former offers a full-beam master suite amidships and a VIP in the bow, with two guest staterooms between. In the five-stateroom layout, the master stateroom is in the bow, while the space amidships is split into a pair of guest staterooms that flanks the centerline. In either configuration there is a full-beam crew stateroom aft, with separate entry from the aft deck and direct access to the engine room.
