We tracked down the inside scoop on what boatbuilders are up to next.

Cranchi is looking to debut its new 43 ECO Trawler at February’s Miami Yacht and Brokerage Show. The boat is expected to have a top hop in the low-20-knot range while also having a 1,500-mile range at 7 knots or so. But don’t get this trawler confused with a true world-girdler like the Bering (left). She’s not meant for that kind of hard cruising. But for a quick trip over to the Bahamas? A Cranchi insider assures me, “She’ll be just about right for that,” thanks to two large staterooms down below and an easy-to-use pod-propulsion package.
