Fairline Yachts Goes for the Gold

Fairline reached a gilded milestone this summer: The British boatbuilder celebrated its 50th anniversary in high style with a rendezvous and party in Port de Sóller, a beautiful harbor on the west coast of Mallorca, a jewel of Spain’s Balearic Islands. Fairline’s owners responded to the call to honor the marque. More than 300 guests coming from far and wide to join in the fun, which included an Argentinean barbecue, fine wine and cocktails, music, and even an aerial photo shoot of all the boats in attendance, running in formation. “We wanted to honor Fairline’s 50th in a truly momentous way,” said Russell Currie, managing director of Fairline Yachts. The party succeeded with “the most Fairlines there have ever been in one location,” he said. Fairline, under new ownership since last year, has seen a resurgence in production with new models and a partnership with Italian superyacht design atelier Alberto Mancini.

Such fun was had, according to Miles Moorhouse, director of marketing for Fairline, that, once word gets out about the event, the company may have no trouble setting the bar for attendance even higher next year.
