I can so easily gush about the cabinetry and carpentry coming out of Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding, but truthfully no amount of gush suffices. While some of the photographs here reveal the razor-tight joints, panel perfection, and carved and inlaid highlights that grace the company's projects, you have to tour a fleet of Lyman-Morse builds to realize the astonishing variety of styles and construction

The teak wheel of the 80-foot Wombat is delicately inlaid with African wenge, which is also used for accent on the balustrade and elsewhere.

The inset door pulls and sink design began as customer ideas.

Mock-ups of spaces and shapes are key to the Lyman-Morse custom process.

When needed, Ferris carves samples of his design ideas.

Many of the yard’s builds, like Annie Rose, sport wood-overlaid transoms.

The new huge, and “green,” building shed is ideal for finishing up the 94-foot Electra.

“The Artist’s” shop is an old cannery.
