Riva 63 Virtus

The 63 Virtus is the new flagship for Riva’s open line, a build-type steeped in glamorous history. In the past Riva owners have included movie stars and royalty, so it’s with some excitement that those who follow that sort of thing anticipate exactly who will spring for this largest of the Riva opens. Whoever does open up their checkbook will be getting a boat that is replete with luxury, good looks, and high-performance features. The 63 retains the iconic lines of Riva opens of the past, a feat made possible in part by the clever concealment of her cleats and electrical winches and amplified by her aggressively raked arrow- shaped side windows. Onboard, a cockpit is equipped with three settees to keep guests comfortable while they partake in refreshments courtesy of a fridge, sink, and optional grill. A sunpad on the foredeck offers another excellent option for lounging. Underway the 63 is as athletic as would be expected of a boat of her build and pedigree. Twin 1,360-mhp MAN V12s can get her roaring across the sea at 46 mph at WOT or maintaining a jaunty cruise speed of 40 mph. With lots to entice even the most discerning of yachtsmen, perhaps the only thing Riva has left open to question with the 63 is which A-list celeb will be the first to be spotted aboard one.
