Warren S120 Sport Yacht

Taking the notion of an open sport yacht to new lengths, Brisbane, Australia’s Warren Yachts has begun construction of a new flagship in its Sport Yacht series. Building on the success of its S87, the 120-foot S120 will make an awesome visual impression, and her low, sleek profile will turn heads in any harbor. Beautifully proportioned, her racy looks belie the spaciousness of her four-stateroom interior layout and the sumptuous amenities she offers.

Just forward of the radar arch is a modest-size flying bridge—modest, that is, for a 120-footer. Offering a helm station with a companion seat and an L-shape settee for eight, it’s a great spot to enjoy an open-air experience. But action central for serious entertaining is the expansive main deck. Atop a transom garage that holds two PWCs, there’s a spacious sunpad just aft of an alfresco area with seating for at least ten. For those wanting fresh air without sun or wind, the best spot is the recessed nook at the aft end of the deckhouse; sheltered at the sides and overhead but open to the aft deck, the cozy space offers a full wet bar and an L-shape settee. For those seeking more solitude, there’s a U-shape settee built into the forward end of the deckhouse. And for adventuresome spirits, a center-console tender and hydraulic lift is concealed in the deckhouse, just aft of the settee.

Amidships on the main deck is a more formal saloon and dining area. To make the most of the space on the main deck, the galley is located on the lower deck, just aft of the crew staterooms and lounge. Also below are a palatial-size, full-beam owner’s suite, two guest staterooms, and a full-beam VIP suite.

Amenities aside, performance is the key in a sport yacht, and the S120 should satisfy all but the most hard core of speed hounds. Twin 2,400-hp MTU diesels will deliver speeds in the mid-20-knot range. More important, her fine entry and modified-V hull form should let her ride comfortably at that speed in even the most challenging seas. And with her solid-FRP bottom, she’s as brawny as she is beautiful.
