KEP Marine Monitors
KEP Marine is likely one of the largest and most accomplished marine electronics companies you’ve probably never heard of, though you may have marveled at one of its super-bright monitors with a more familiar brand name on it. KEP also directly markets its own line of In-Sight displays ranging from 12-inch to this new $17,800, 24-inch wide-screen whopper. All monitors can dim to black and support various split-screen and PIP (picture in picture) configurations. Each has nine inputs of various types to support cameras, computers, a/v inputs, and black box whatevers. Sources can be directly chosen via those bezel buttons, but KEP also has a $2,600 BridgeView multimonitor control system that looked smartly designed in a boat show demo and is compatible with Extron video switching gear. A nicely graphical MMI on its 7.7-inch touch screen lets you manage every aspect of your KEP screens individually or all at once. KEP Marine, whose parent company is big in industrial instrumentation, also manufactures vessel computers and recently introduced In-Sight Vessel Monitoring System (IVMS), a full-on big-boat package for minding engines, tanks, power systems, and much more while onboard or ashore.
