New Electronics Update

Raymarine introduced the e165, a multifunction display (MFD) with a 15.4-inch LCD screen boasting a 16:9 aspect ratio. The MFD networks with up to six displays and uses a dual-core main processor and a dedicated graphics processor to multi-task with charting, sounder, radar, thermal-imaging functions, and more. The unit employs the proprietary LightHouse user interface for simple operation. The company’s RayRemote and RayControl apps combine with Bluetook and Wi-Fi connectivity to allow tablets and smartphones to access and manipulate the electronics, respectively. Raymarine says the displays offer consistent color and contrast and are backlit with LEDs for efficient power usage. Available with various cartography options, including Navionics Silver, Gold, and Platinum, the Raymarine e165 starts at an MSRP of $6,249.99, and will be available in October 2012. www.raymarine.com
