The Simrad GS25 is a GPS/GLONASS antenna with an integrated e-compass and gyro that purportedly provides precision positioning and heading information to Simrad NSE, NSO, and NSS displays and likely any other MFD that supports the NMEA 2000 protocol.

The heading sensor helps the GS25 to output course-over-ground (COG) updates at virtually any vessel speed, according to Simrad, and enables radar overlay on charts.

The update rate for the GS25 can be configured—choose from 1-, 5-, or 10-hertz rates—for best location data, while the unit’s chipset enhances the speed at which it fixes the vessel’s location.

Supporting multiple global navigation satellite systems, the antenna communicates with GPS, GLONASS, WAAS, EGNOS, and MSAS.
