WxWorx XM Receiver

WxWorx hard- and software packages let you monitor XM Satellite Weather with your onboard PC, and its latest receiver makes installation easier than ever. Exchangeable modules allow the PC interface to be either traditional RS-232 serial, wireless Bluetooth, USB, or Ethernet, and the latter two can also supply power. This flexibility also means it’s easier to use the 12-volt receiver elsewhere when not on the boat, as the fairly expensive subscription is locked into the receiver (I am holding out hope for something like an XM or Sirius SIM card to make such portability truly easy). A complete WxWorx XM package starts at $1,000 with USB or RS-232 serial modules, including a marine antenna and software.
