I got lost on Youtube the other day doing research for a story and stumbled across this jaw-dropping video. (If you’ve never gotten lost on Youtube, I highly recommend it. Just go to the site, watch a video you like, and then click on the related links that pop up on the right side of the page. It’s an incredible time killer.) But I digress. A freaking enormous (maybe a grander?) marlin completely chomped in half by a great white off the Great Barrier Reef. Incredible. Did you see the size of the head on that fish? Which begs the question, how big was the mouth on that shark? Just brutal Mother Nature stuff right there. That marlin probably thought it was the king of the ocean until the day it caught a big hook in its mouth and shark bit its whole body off. Kind of reminds me of those old Nike commercials from the 90s. The ones that were like “no matter how good you are, there’s always somebody out there practicing to get better than you.” True words, there. True words.
P.S. Serious question: How much money would it take for you to jump in that water and stay there for ten seconds? I used to know a guy who claimed he would do anything for $49. I would totally give him 49 bucks to jump in. Never really liked that kid.
