Prepping for the Bow Thruster on Arawak

Work continues on, Arawak, at Rybovich in West Palm Beach, Florida. Today (July 15) Florida Bow Thrusters drilled the hole for the Vetus-Maxwell bow thruster. Check these shots out:

After a 1,200 mile leg from the Virgin Islands, Arawak arrived in Florida for additional work before she goes into the paint shed.

This deep forefoot makes the install of the thruster failry easy. The hole will be situated well below the waterline.

Now that’s a hole saw! CJ from Florida Bow Thrusters gets the equipment ready.

First two smaller holes are drilled on each side to ensure they’re level and as a guide for the hole saw. The hole saw is lubricated with a soapy spray.

The tunnel is trimmed and prepped.

The tunnel is now ready for glass work by Florida Bow Thrusters. Stay tuned. All in all, these pros make this a two day job at the yard.
